They called for an interview on Wednesday. They hired her on Thursday. She left the next Tuesday to fly down there and is living in a hotel until we go down this weekend and find her a place to live. This is crazy-exciting. The only thing I know about Austin is that it is the home of millions of bats in the summer months. Yuck! Wish me luck! I definitely don't fit in, seeing as they were all men, bearded and wearing those stereotypical hats that Orthodox Jews wear. Instinctively I know that they've all had heart transplants. Walking down the street, every person I pass starts explaining to me how heart transplants 'don't hurt a bit' and I 'have nothing to worry about'. Dream 2: My sister comes in my room and takes all of my bras from my underwear drawer. I wake up and ask her, 'What the hell are you doing?' She's simply giving them to the Jews. Then walks out of my room. I get up and run after her. I find her outside selling my bras to the mass of Jewish women gathered in my front yard. Dream 3: My sister is pouring water into little white ceramic bowls and explains to me how the Jewish children are thirsty. Analysis: Do I secretly feel that I need to help the Jews in my community? or abroad? My mom thought maybe I've lived in Saint Jewish Park too long.
