Ho hum...another day in the life of Kristen is soon to come to an end. Why is it that people seem to love me...until they really get to know me? Maybe I should work on that. Maybe a vacation will help...but it didn't these past two times. Ho hum...ladeefrickin'dah!

I like the away message I put up today, it seems to explain this week quite well:

Sunday: Productive
Monday: Optimistic
Tuesday: Pessimistic
Wednesday: Productive
Thursday: Breakdown/Sad/Panic
Friday: Greg plays Chopin at my funeral???
Saturday: It's all over!

This Week said to me, "I think I will kick you in the ass."
I said, "But no, that doesn't sound like fun at all. It sounds more like I will get 2 hours of sleep all week, be crabby and continue being sick. Please misercordia mei! Have mercy on this poor soul."
This Week responded with a thwunk to my ass, "No mercy for you."
Yowch!!! This is making it extremely difficult to sit with such large bruises on my backside.
I need a hug...

Hahaha!!! Play, have fun...with this

Just in case you don't know, I'm not taking medicine anymore. I am no longer a "pill-popper", however much fun it was. Those little happy pills gave me very big and very unhappy hotflashes (everyone that's known me longer than 9 months can attest to that). I no longer have these hotflashes and I am thankful. Thanks.

Problem: I now experience cold. I also have a cold. I'm cold. It's unbearable...painful even. It's really freaking cold!!! I now sympathize to all of you that I have made fun of in the past for being cold, my apologies for my lack of understanding. I now also wear a coat...not a grey sweatshirt, but a real winter jacket. You should all be proud!

My fingers are growing stiff from the lack on blood flow to them, I'm off to do jumping jacks...if I don't die of hypothermia first.

For the last week and a half we have been studying the Chinese in my History 111 "The Origins of the World" class, because that is my crazy prof's favorite (she's from Taiwan and specializes in East Asian Studies). We had to turn in outlines for comparative papers that will be due in the beginning of December. We studied the Greeks and Romans for a total of 3 days and that is my favorite area of study (obviously, it's my major). So, I decided to compare women in the Greek culture to women in the Roman Empire.

My prof pulled me aside today and told me that I had to broaden my horizons. That this is a "world-oriented" class and therefore I should consider not taking two identical cultures to compare, but instead consider the...Chinese...? World-oriented my ass! I guess I just didn't know they were identical, I'll stop worrying about not learning the Greek language then, as long as it's identical to Latin, no worries. I'm fluent in Greek! Who knew?!!?

Today we also talked about Japan...which was heavily influenced by Korea...which was directly influenced by-you guessed it-CHINA!
EVERYTHING DOES NOT REVOLVE AROUND CHINA!

Doesn't this sound like the movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding to you?
"Give me a word, any word and I show you how it comes from Greek."
"Kimono."
Pause.
"Oh, that's easy..."

Meanwhile...

There is also a French class in the computer lab next to me. The French prof will speak in French for about 1 minute before having to stop and explain what "Internet Explorer" was (which he had said in English). I even understand the French he's using.

BTW: It is my birthday today...I'm officially 20 at 1:28pm today. No more teenage years. Only one year then it's all legal. Happy Birthday to me...Happy Birthday to me.... Hopefully today will be better than my recent days have been. If nothing else at least I get my favorite cake and almost 3 hours of Harry Potter!

Can you believe this??? I mean, it just can't be true. I do enjoy a good horror film every once in a while and my favorite TV shows to watch are compiled of graphic surgeries on the Discovery Channel, or detailed histories of Catherine the Great, but come on...isn't that what everybody watches?

Dr. Phil (you know, the one that's always on Oprah) says this about me:

"Others see you as fresh, lively, charming, amusing, practical and always interesting; someone who is constantly in the center of attention, but sufficiently well-balanced not to let it get to their head. They also see you as kind, considerate, and understanding; someone who will always cheer them up and help them out."

What do you think? (I guess he forgot to mention "Seeks approval from others." Haha!)

All of you who are eager to comment: something is obviously wrong with my comments...give me a bit to figure it out. It'll work soon enough and then y'all can comment to your heart's content.

Speaking of "Y'all," in Latin class whenever there is an imperative verb in plural form we say "Y'all". I love translating such a beautiful language such as Latin into Texan slang. Haha!

My debate went well, thanks to all who asked. I think marijuana is going to stay illegal...at least for a while and it's all thanks to me. Mook!

I'm going to a meeting soon with a study abroad advisor...everyone cross your fingers they will let me get out of this country again!!!

Sigh...I'm in love:
Ingrid...how I love thee.
Ryan...how I love thee.
Running after a bus through a sea of Chinese people...how I don't love thee.

My trip was filled with beautiful people, places...flavored tobacco (sheesha) and alcoholic beverages (with FRAT boys).

Kristen Trivia:
At the Metropolitan Museum of Art there was a Richard Avedon exhibit.
What pieces of his work do I own? How did I acquire such art?
I will be your friend for life if you answer these correctly. Have fun!

Heart, Kristen.

Caution: Kristen has had too much caffeine.

I'm going to Phili on Friday morning to visit the beautiful Ingrid, Ingridima, Ingraph...I love that girl. Clamo ad opera sua. We then are taking the Dragoncoach from Phili's Chinatown to NYC's Chinatown on Saturday to see RyanClay (yes, his name is one word) and some artsy-fartsy stuff which I heart passionately. (Yay!) Then back to the City of Brotherly Love (versus Eros or Agape love...is there a city called "Agapepolis" or "Erosville"? Well, there should be. Speaking of naming cities, the other day my friend, Greg, and I were naming cities after ourselves. I like "Gregopolis" the best. Heehee!). Then back to Minne-fucking-sota. Don't get me wrong, I love Minnesota...I just want to get out of it sometimes.

Deep sigh...I am one happy clam right now. And my hands are shaking. I heart caffeine and lots of it! I feel like I took my Happy Pills again...at times I miss Happy Pills. I heart Happy Pills, but we divorced while I was away in Italy. Maybe we should start dating again. Slowly. I'm considering it. My love affair with Italia really broke us up, but now that Italia is on the other side of the The Big Salty Pond...Happy Pills wants to get back together. I don't know, what do you think, Cyberspace?

So, today I had one of my three huge group presentations (Why are they all at the same time? I have no clue!) We all did really well, except that it took about 30 minutes less time than it should have. Oh, well, the class was happy to get out early. My crazy professor of course took pictures of us presenting with her disposible Fuji camera (sorry, SMA, no Kodak for this lady). So thus far you are thinking that I should be happy with myself concerning this particular presentation, that it is over and I did well.

YOU WOULD BE WRONG! Oh, soooooo wrong.

My prof appeared to love everything that came out of my other group members' mouths, yet when I spoke she would "correct" me. She would say things like, "Well, actually..." I hate when sentences start with "Well, !^$#ing actually..." Then she would add, "Well, there are many sources..." I would then reply, "Well, I *%!^ing relied on your book for my information. You know, the one you wrote, Professor Stupid." Her response: "Well, it could be that way, but..."

Calling all middle fingers! Hail, Professor Stupid-Psycho-Bitch.

This weekend is going to be hell...that sort of hell where you have a shitload to do but there are fun distractions for you to, well, distract yourself with. I'm looking forward to it in a sort of masochistic way. Speaking of that: everyone should run out and see The Secretary at the Uptown Theatre. It almost makes you want to have sex being tied to a tree and wearing a black veil...almost.

Here is the deal with me not posting: I CAN'T FROM MY HOME COMPUTER! The Blogger-Bitch only seems to be bitchy when I'm on my home computer...hmm...maybe I should call a computer-geek friend of mine and ask him to come give Blogger-Bitch sexual favors then we would all be happy.

So I'm finally posting (from the "Learning Center")...

I'm sitting here NOT doing my 3 hours of Latin translation and also NOT doing the in-class assignment that I'm supposed to be doing-but hey-I'M POSTING!

There is a scanner next to me and I'm wondering (if I could figure out how to use it) if I could put a picture on this site. Then people would maybe read, look at picture, and enjoy site...? I'll consider figuring this thing out.

If anybody doesn't remember my watchband story I'll refresh your memory before giving updates: You see, I got this watch at a concert in Mankato, Minnesota (yeah, Mankato...) on a frickin'-freezin' night in January all because I bought a cd of hot hot Stuart Davis. I had never really worn watches before, they always felt funny on my wrist, "But this one will remind me of hot Stu, therefore, I must wear it!" I thought to myself. The watch was not pretty, it was held together be one thread and a hair binder...but we feel in love. Watch and I traveled across the Big Salty Pond together: cruised Munich's Beer Garden on bicycle, walked the cobblestone streets of Italy, went to Cats in London, crawled into the pyramids of Cairo, snorkled in the Red Sea, climbed (down) the stairs of the Eiffel Tower...and much more...we were happy together.
Then we returned to Minnesota together and Watch became sad...depressed...blue. Watch finally dumped me and committed suicide. I cried (a little). Then went to Targhetto to replace the watchband. I just couldn't find anything that would do...there was no replacement for Watch. I finally resorted to using a purple ribbon (hey, my Junior year-why not show a little TOMMY PRIDE?) But our relationship (Ribbon and me) just wasn't the same.
Update: Mom and Dad found an old and ugly watchband in the back of our junk drawer at home...I now have another watchband and my life is getting back on track. I knew you all were very worried, but all is well yet again.

As we all know my knowledge of computers is...well...let's say "limited", specifically computers on campus where the UST student logs in and then the desktop icons will have the user's name under them. I never clicked on any icon except the "e" which gets me into internet explorer and then I can cruise my little self around Cyberspace getting lost many times and not knowing where to ask for directions (which somehow often leads me to porn...?). So, today I decided to be adventurous and double-clicked on an icon on the desktop that was labeled "My Web-kmperron". I clicked on different folders that were listed which brought me to random pages that kept saying "personal" in them. Like a "personal web page". Then I opened an "image" entitled "to kristen!" My thoughts: "Wow! This computer and I must have a personal relationship...I hope it doesn't expect sexual favors and i hope no one gets jealous."

The image opened. In colorful, child-like handwriting was written:

"I LOVE KRISTEN! cuz She makes me so HAPPY! :) [heart], Katy"

**Note: the "O" in "LOVE" was a filled-in heart.

WOW!!! My computer loves me, I make it happy, and it's named "Katy"....
